Mitt Romney Tried to Rig NAACP Crowd by Flying in His Own African Americans
http://www.politicususa.com/mitt-romney-rig-naacp-crowd-flying-african-americans.html
Many of Romney’s claims were debunked by Senior Vice President for Advocacy and Policy and the Director of the Washington Bureau of the NAACP, Hilary Shelton who said that the only African Americans Romney met with after his speech were those that he brought with him. Mr. Shelton explained that Mitt Romney flew in his own African-American supporters who were not affiliated with the NAACP, in order to have some people in the crowd cheering for him. /snip I wonder if he brought them from the House or from the Field?

19. GOP has been bussing crowds in for decades
|
I remember when Bush spoke in Philly back in 2001. It was the 4th of July weekend which is a big deal in Philadelphia (Declaration of Independance was signed there). I had been to many of these speeches in Philly previous years and it was and other than some basic security it was easy for anyone to see the speaker even if it was a US President.
Mind you this was 2001 BEFORE 9/11. When Bush spoke there the entire area was fenced off and with that fencing that has the plastic ribbon to prevent people from seeing what was happening inside. On the one side there were dozens of buses of supporters who they shipped in from the suburbs. Here's a speech being done in Philadelphia but no one from Philly, which has a high number of minorities was allowed to attend. When I saw the crowds on the news that night - it was a sea of white folks. |

"I was on the highway praying and said, ‘God just show me how to get lights on,’ and I pulled up to a stop sign and his bus was there,” said Williams, who has been unemployed since last October. “And then God said, ‘Follow the bus,’ and I followed the bus to the airport.”...Williams said she has been volunteering at Romney’s Columbia headquarters since meeting his bus last week...
While Williams would not specify how much money Romney gave her, a campaign spokesman said that he believes Romney gave the woman between $50 and $60. http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2012/01/romney-gives-unemployed-woman-cash-on-ropeline/ |

26. Ah.. his "secret black supporters" are explained. That's why Condi Rice is rumored to be the VP pic
|
But.. but... everyone on the yahoo news site is saying that he's picking Condi Rice as VP and that makes it all better!!!
Seriously this was an actual quote tonight from the republicans on the comment board "Condi Rice is an intelligent black, and would be the final nail on Obama's coffin." (why is their language always so graphic?) And Condi Rice has the personality of prison warden. Didn't Romney get the memo that republicans don't care about terrorism anymore? Now that Obama has kicked ass in that regard, they don't care anymore.. so what value would Rice be other than being the GOP equivalent of Obama (how insulting!) ANd Yeah.. because we all know how life has been under President Herb Cain, and President Allen West, because African Americans always vote because of the skin color. I mean it certainly would NEVER be seen by the AA community that this was just a ploy to get their votes, or anything. Riiiiight. Or he will pick an Hispanic, because again... to the republicans and especially Mittens, all it takes for voters of color is to have someone that looks like them on the ticket. Riiiiiigggght. Sorry, but Romney has lost every shred of credibility, and ANYTHING he does at this point is going to be seen as it is.. a disgusting political ploy. We're smarter than that. Did they learn nothing from the Palin debacle? That having ovaries is NOT a chick-magnet for women voters??? |

Last edited Thu Jul 19, 2012, 11:54 PM USA/ET - Edit history (1) Apparently the Lt. Gov. of Florida was flown in by Romney. Here is an article -
"Journalist Roland Martin, the TV One Cable Network anchor and CNN analyst who was famously suspended for homophobic Tweets in March, said that he saw more than just a few supporters who were brought in by the Republican's campaign. 'Romney bussed in about 200 supporters, including a number of African Americans, including Fla Lt Gov Jennifer Carroll,' Martin Tweeted at the time of the event."
